Caerphilly Castle

Caerphilly Castle is situated in Caerphilly town in south Wales and it dates back to the 13th century. After the Windsor Castle it is the second largest castle in Britain. This castle is a beautiful example of a concentric castle around which there is water to improve its defense system. During the centuries the castle decayed but the Marquesses of Bute started with its restoration in 18th century and in 1950 they handed it to the British government. Today the castle is mainly a tourist attraction where visitors except from sightseeing can buy souvenirs and organize wedding ceremonies.
