Hi, My name is Gleann Doherty and I am offering walking tours of Derry's Bogside and city walls with emphasis on Bloody Sunday and the conflict that occurred here in Ireland. I have a 2.1 B.A Honours Degree in Irish History and Politics graduated 2013 from University of Ulster, Magee campus. I have a level 2 certificate in political tour guiding obtained 2013. My personal experience of the conflict is not only living through this period but also having my father murdered on the day of Bloody Sunday. I have been involved in the Bloody Sunday Justice Campaign since 1990 and attended the Saville Inquiry in Derry and London. I specialise in providing groups and individuals with a political and social analysis of the history of Ireland with a focus on the Civil Rights era and the Bloody Sunday massacre in Derry. The historic City of Derry dates back to pre christian times with the first recorded settlement was St. Colmcille in 546. Derry played an important role in the history of Ireland being the main English settlement during the Plantation of Ulster. History such as the 1641 Rebellion, Siege of Derry 1689, 1798 Rebellion all involved this area of Ireland.
