Museum of Transport was established in 1964 and today there are over 3,000 objects exhibited while visitors are allowed to climb on some of them. Visitors of Riverside can go aboard The Tall Ship ´Glenlee´ which was launched in 1898, but today the ship is host of rich program of events and activities.
The Riverside Trail is made to guide visitors through external landscape around Riverside. There are also Volunteer Guided Tours available inside of the Museum.

The Old City Observatory is also known as the Calton Hill Observatory. Its construction was inspired by a Greek Temple of the Four Winds and is designed by William Henry Playfair in 1818. The construction of this astronomical observatory finished in 1822. In the main gall there is a pillar which supports the telescope. The building retains some of the original instruments like the Frauenhofer and the Cooke telescope.

Sitting on the edge of cliffs overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the views from the castle are superb and the surrounding gardens are breathtaking.
